Associate Director, Innovation and Partnership Development
Within her current role in the College of Business, Becca Husar designs cocurricular programming for our De La Vega Innovation Lab and works with partners who want to impact the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators at NIU. With a background in the music industry and nonprofit sector, Husar emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity in each program she designs for the De La Vega Innovation Lab.
As an alumna of NIU’s MBA program and a small-business owner herself, Husar supports students with the development of their entrepreneurial ventures. Through either programming in the De La Vega Innovation Lab or individualized guidance, Husar wants to ensure that all students, regardless of background or major, have access to the resources they need.
Currently, Husar is researching empathy in organizations and its role in multidimensional value creation under the lead of Furkan Gur and Christine Mooney.
Husar looks forward to expanding the De La Vega Innovation Lab’s resources across campus, and to fostering a thriving entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, connecting students, alumni, faculty/staff and external partners.
