Biography

Brittany Buis is an assistant professor in the Department of Management at NIU. She earned her Ph.D. in human resource management and organizational behavior from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2022. She is a proud "double-Huskie," having earned her B.S. and MBA at Northern Illinois University. Her areas of research interests and expertise include the pursuit of work as a calling, leadership and management education. Her work has been published in Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Applied Psychology and Management Teaching Review.

Prior to studying at University of Illinois Chicago, Brittany served as an academic advisor and designed and taught career planning classes for upper-level management and business administration students. She began her professional career in banking and finance, working as a commissioned examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and as an analyst in structured finance.
